62nd Independence Anniversary

September 21 2026 

 

The 62nd Anniversary of Malta’s Independence was marked by a concelebrated High Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.

Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna was the main celebrant, assisted by other bishops and members of the Co-Cathedral Chapter.

Dr Michael Grech, President of the Maltese Association, Council members and other members were in attendance. The Sovereign Military Order of Malta is recognised by the State of Malta through the exchange of diplomatic relations.
