Feast of Corpus Christi
A Pontifical High Mass in celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi was held on Sunday the 7th June at St John’s Co-Cathedral. Mass was celebrated by Mgr. Joseph Bajada, President Archdeacon of the Metropolitan Chapter .
Dr Michael Grech, President of the Maltese Association and members of the Council led the members and aspirants during the celebration.
The Feast of Corpus Christi honors Christ’s Presence in the Holy Eucharist. The feast dates to the 13th century said to be first celebrated by St Juliana of Liege , a Nortbertine canoness in Belgium. She had great love for the Eucharist
After Mass, Mgr. Bajada led the Eucharistic procession through the streets of Valletta, stopping for a moment of prayer with the community of the Byzantine rite of the Greek Catholic Church of our Lady of Damascus led by Papas Martin Zammit.
