Launch of – Sixty Years of Service – The Maltese Association of the Order of Malta – 1965-2025
Built in the early seventeenth century, San Anton Palace in Attard, was the former residence of Grand Master Antoine de Paule. It was in this palace that on Friday, the 19th of June, the launch took place of the book – Sixty Years of Service, The Maltese Association of the Order of Malta – 1965-2025 , authored by confrere Ambassador Dr. Noel Buttigieg Scicluna and designed and illustrated by Mr. Daniel Cilia.
The event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Myriam Spiteri Debono, President of Malta. Attending were also H.E. Fra’ Emmanuel Rousseau, Grand Commander off the Sovereign Order, H.E. Fra’ Francis Vassallo, Receiver of the Common Treasure, and H.E. the Ambassador of the Order to Malta, Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria and H.S.H. Princess Tana Ruffo di Calabria.
Dr Michael Grech, President of the Association led the members of the Council and other guests.
Speeches were made by HE The President of the Republic, and Dr Michael Grech.
Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata presented the book and its contents. HE Fra’ Emmanuel Rousseau closed the evening with a speech about the spiritual dimension of the Order.
Three short videos were shown courtesy of the Public Broadcasting Services. These showed footage of the Pauline Centenary celebrations of 1960, the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the Great Siege in1965 and the State Visit of Grand Master Fra’ Angelo de Mojana in 1968.
