Papal Audience

The Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV graciously invited the Sovereign Order of Malta and other institutions for an audience at the Vatican on Saturday, the 10^th of January 2026. His Holiness wished to personally thank all those who rendered a service in Rome during the Ordinary Jubilee Year. The Maltese Association was led by its President, Dr Michael Grech, various members of the Council and several members and volunteers.

In his message, Pope Leo XIV explained that these organisations and institutors “offered a multifaceted contribution, often hidden, always demanding and full of responsibility, thanks to which more than thirty million pilgrims were able to undertake the Jubilee journey”

The Maltese Association was in charge in January of last year of the First Aid offices at the four major Basilicas in Rome for a whole week.
