International Day Of The Sick

The artistic brass doors of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy at San Pawl Tat-targa, work of Gozitan artist, Austin Camilleri, were wide open on Saturday the 8th February to welcome our Lords the Sick, guests of the Malta Association, to celebrate together with them the International Day of the Sick.

The Council, led by the President Dr Michael Grech and several Members and helpers from VOTO were at hand to lead the guests to their seats in the church, where a Mass was celebrated by the Principal Chaplain, Mgr Brendan Gatt, assisted by Rev. Can Michael Agius, hosting this gathering, as well as Mgr Victor Zammit McKeon and Rev Fr Savio Vella.

In his sermon, Mgr Gatt, recalled the message issued by His Holiness Pope Francis for this day in this Jubilee Year – Hope does not disappoint (Rom 5.5) but strengthens us in times of trial.
Mas was followed by a reception for Our Lords the Sick, their families and friends.
