First Aid Courses by CISOM
CISOM visited Malta and Gozo once again between 19 and 21 July and several courses were instructed to members and volunteers of the Maltese Association of the Order. The courses were held at Lourdes Retreat House in Ghajnsielem, Gozo. First Aid, BLS-D and Emergency Childbirth Courses were presented to around fifteen Maltese and Gozitan volunteers from several organisations of the Order.

The Italian delegation of CISOM was led by Dr Danilo Tolomeo MD responsible for the CISOM-MASMOM Collaboration Project which started around two years ago.

The courses were presented by Dr Danilo Tolomeo MD, Dr Daniele Ceccaroni, Dr Sofia Cagnoni, Engineer Franco Loru and Mr Gaetano D’ Arrigo with the logistical support of Mr Alfonso Reisang Tolomeo. From the Maltese side, Ms Manolita Manicaro Farrugia was also one of the BLS-D Instructors. Dr Sofia Cagnoni presented the Emergency Childbirth Course while Dr Daniele Ceccaroni MD presented the First Aid Course.

On Sunday 21 July, the Canine Resuce Team of the Maltese Association of the Order of Malta led by Mr Joseph Sammut and Mr Simon Briffa, presented a real-life search and rescue demonstration for all those present. CISOM Certificates were also presented by Chris Galea KM and discussions were held re the next CISOM-MASMOM projects for next October.
