Basic Life Support Defibrillation Instructor Course in Sicily
The joint agreement between CISOM and the Maltese Association of the Order of Malta is already bearing fruition.
Mrs Manolita Manicaro, a very active Volunteer of OMVG within the Maltese Association, was the best student, passing with top marks during the CISOM BLSD Instructor Course from 15th to 17th December, held at the premises provided by the Italian Coast Guard in Catania, Sicily.
This was the first time that a Maltese national participated in a CISOM Instructor Course, thanks to our several efforts and contacts. As this may be one of the major steps forward, CISOM will eventually also conduct a refresh First Aid Course in 2024 for all those Volunteers of the Maltese Association of the Order who did the previous First Aid/BLSD Course in October 2022. Around another seventeen Italian volunteers of CISOM attended the course.
We wish to thank all CISOM especially outgoing Regional Representative Dr Graziano Cascone and CISOM Ragusa Sanitary Director Dr Danilo Tolomeo; the latter is also a resident in Malta and an active medical volunteer doctor with OMVG. We congratulate Mrs Manicaro for her great success in this mission.
