Rise of the Guardians
For the first time this year the Charity Events Committee organised a film show at Eden Cinemas for 150 children from care homes around the island.
At the appointed time coaches drew up at the cinema and excited children ran into the cinema complex to collect their soft drink and popcorn before settling into their seats for the start of the film. Excitement grew as the children donned their 3D glasses. The film started accompanied by shrieks from the children as the 3D effects became apparent and fairies and goblins came flying out of the screen screeching over their heads!
Organising and controlling the children was no small task,
After two hours it was time to go home and seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter of the children as they excitedly boarded their busses home was reward enough for a tiring but successful afternoon.
