Solemn Mass De Requiem for the repose of the soul of H.H. Pope Francis

April 22 2025 

The Maltese Association, led by its President, Dr Michael Grech and the Council, joined the hundreds packing St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta to attend the Holy Mass for the repose of the soul of the late lamented Pope Francis celebrated by H.G. The Metropolitan Archbishop of Malta, Mgr Charles J. Scicluna, and concelebrated by H.E. The Apostolic Nuncio, Mgr Savio Hon Tai-Fai, and a number of other Bishops and numerous members of the clergy, including several chaplains of the Association.
 
In the words of Archbishop Scicluna – those of us who met him or feel part of the Catholic family felt his love – sentiments reflected by all those present in church, but especially so by the Members of the Maltese Association who recall the support and the closeness of the Holy Father in the service of the sick and those most vulnerable. In the letter addressed to the Members of the Order – H.M.E.H. The Prince and Grand Master Fra’ John T Dunlap – recalled the late Pope’s, “witness of faith, his dedication to the weakest, his unceasing appeal for mercy and peace…… mindful that his example will continue to inspire us in our mission of Tuitio Fidei et Obsequium Pauperum
