April 6 2019

On Saturday 6 April 2019 the President of the Maltese Association of the Order of Malta, Marchesino Daniel de Petri Testaferrata, visited the Alberto Marvelli Shelter for Homeless Youth in Paola, Malta where works are now at a very advanced stage of completion.

He was accompanied by the Hospitaller, Dr. Kevin F. Dingli, as well as by the Communications Officer, Mr. Martin Micallef.

Also in attendance were Mr. Bryan Magro, President of the National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco, as well as Mr. Stefan Farrugia, a Council member of the same National Federation, who is overseeing the works together with Architect Dennis Kirkop, a Member of the Maltese Association.

The Maltese Association is partnered with the National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco on this Project, which will provide temporary independent residential accommodation to 3 persons in conjunction with a unique Mentoring Programme.

The Project has received financial backing from various quarters, including the Government of Malta’s Ministry for Family and Social Solidarity as well as the Order of Malta’s Global Fund for Forgotten People; and has also benefitted from numerous donations in kind.

The Shelter is scheduled to be officially opened in July 2019.
