Mass of Thanksgiving at Naxxar Parish Church to Commemorate The Victory of The Great Siege of 1565
Maltese Association Vice-President, Comm. Anthony Miceli Demajo, represented Maltese Association and attended a Thanksgiving Mass at the Naxxar Parish Church, to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Victory which is a National Holiday when Malta celebrating two important victories; the first being the victory during the Great Siege of 1565 and the second in the Second World War where Malta had to endure immeasurable hardship and suffering. The official State celebration was a Pontifical High Mass celebrated by H.G. The Archbishop Mgr Paul Cremona, concelebrated with the Papal Nuncio for Malta, H.E. Mgr Aldo Cavalli and members of the Cathedral Chapter. Amongst those attending were, the President of the Republic H.E. Madame Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the Prime Minister of Malta, The Hon. Dr Joseph Muscat, along with various other dignitaries amidst which included honorable members of Parliament and of the Diplomatic Corps.
