Annual Spiritual Retreat
Member, prospective members, Spouses and Volunteers attended the Advent Retreat held at St Joseph’s Convent in Rabat. The success of organizing a day retreat last year was repeated this year with over fifty members participating.
The retreat this year was given by Fr. Gordon Refalo, who based his first reflections for the day on ‘The Road to Damascus from Sinner to Saint’, where he mirrored the life of Saint Paul to our journey as sinners where we follow the life Christ taught to us by. ‘The Road to Egypt’ where Jesus’s exile from the Holy land mirrored the time in our lives where, whilst seeking closeness to Christ, there are time where we feel abandoned and alone. In his third talk ’ The Road to Jerusalem from Passion to Glory’ Fr Refalo asked us to reflect on the difficulty of life’s journey following Christ to eventually arrive at our Jerusalem.
The plainness and simple way in which Fr. Refalo choose to deliver his reflections was greatly appreciated by all those who attended.
The Way of the Cross and the Holy Rosary were then followed by the final event of the day where our Principal Chaplain Mgr Lawrence Gatt celebrated Holy Mass followed by Benediction.
Special thanks go to Comm. Anthony Demajo the Retreat Coordinator, who once again organising a well attended and successful retreat.
