Anniversary of Malta’s Independence

The Maltese Association, led by its President, Dr Michael Grech, and members of the Council, attended a solemn High mass, celebrated at Saint John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta to celebrate the 61st Anniversary of Malta’s Independence.
Malta became independent from Great Britian on the 21st of September 1964. In June 1966, the first Ambassador of the Order to Malta , Dino Marrajeni, presented his Credentials to then Governor General, Sir Maurice Dorman. Malta became a Republic on the 13rh December 1974.
Mass was celebrated by His Lordship Monsignor Joseph Galea Curmi, Auxiliary Bishop of Malta assisted by other members of the Cathedral Chapter. Present was also His Excellency, Archbishop Savio Hon Tai-fai, Apostolic Nunzio.
