International Day of the Sick

February 11 2018

On Sunday 11th February to commemorate the International Day of the Sick and as requested by the Grand Hospitaller, The Maltese Association of The Order of Malta, invited a number of Our Lord the Sick who have participated in the Annual Pilgrimage to Lourdes over the years, to a Mass at the Sanctuary of Our lady of Divine Graces in Zabbar.

Fr.Savio Vella celebrated the evening Mass and delivered an inspiring homily for the occasion.
The Sick and their relatives were later hosted by members and volunteers of The Order to light refreshments at the Parish Hall across the church square, where they enjoyed chatting and catching up with old friends.

The Maltese association is grateful to Can Evan Caruana, Parish Priest of Zabbar, who welcomed the group to this beautiful local Marian Sanctuary. On the day we also commemorate the first apparition of Our Lady to Bernadette in Lourdes and he has already kindly extended an invitation to The Maltese Association to organise the event in his Parish again next year.
