Maltese Association Orchestral Charity Concert at St John’s Co-Cathedral

followed by a Reception at the Auberge de Castille
The Orchestral Charity Concert has become a yearly event in the Maltese Association Calendar of Activities.
The annual concert is held to mark the Feast Day of St John the Baptist, Patron Saint of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. This years event also celebrated the 900th Anniversary of the recognition of our Order by Pope Paschal II in 1113, following the formal festivities held in Rome last February
Once again the Charity Concert Committee engaged the services of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Prof. Michael Laus, with Soprano Gillian Zammit and The Goldberg Ensemble choir. The programme took the audience on a musical tour with a Marian theme giving a brilliant performance of works by Liszt, Schubert, Bach and Mozart.
Maltese Association was honoured by the distinguished patronage of the Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr Joseph Muscat, who attended the Concert with Mrs Michelle Muscat, and who very generously hosted all the guests in the quaint and beautifully lit courtyard of the Auberge de Castille for an after Concert reception.
