Corporate Responsibility Day at Fra Diegu Home Hamrun
19th March is the Feast of St Joseph Worker. Funnily enough nobody in Malta works on this day…except perhaps those who decide to offer their work free of charge to help others. Members of Maltese Association joined some employees of ten major companies in Malta to offer their services : whitewashing, painting, clearing, cleaning, gardening, sewing etc.
This year we all joined hands in Fra Diegu Home at Hamrun. The day started with Holy Mass at about 8.00 a.m. and then straight to work for about five hours. Some Maltese Association members were chosen to whitewash a few rooms, others sewed curtains and one worked hard at gardening. I must say we did a good job but I could see some of us were out of training. The way we walked back to our cars was very slow and painful, but we were all smiling.
