Summer Camp BBQ & Fundraiser for ISC – 08^th July 2022

Following the success of the previous years it was again decided to host this social evening for past Summer Camp attendees and new ones including their families and volunteers.  It was held at the Cavalieri Art Hotel in St. Julian’s on the rooftop suite. The evening opened with a mass celebration by Fr. Claude Portelli, the camps’ Chaplain, followed by a BBQ prepared by VOTO’s volunteers.  The evening was very well attended, with an attendance of  85 guests.

Bingo Night – 8^th June 2022 

A get-together was held with our patients just before the summer heat started to kick in. VOTO Council surprised them with bingo on the night which was a hit with our guests and enjoyed by all, prizes that had been sponsored were given out to our Bingo winners. It was held at the Marsa Sports Club and we were able to host 54 patients with 21 volunteers helping out.

Fundraising Sparkling Brunch – 15^th May 2022

The Sparkling Brunch was held at The Phoenix Terrace at The Phoenicia Hotel. It was the re-start of the first of many fundraisers to come after not being able to go ahead with previous events. It was well attended with 47 Guests and 2 Children. The late morning began with an aperitivo out on the terrace after which our guests were hosted to a lavish set menu brunch. The afternoon ended with a raffle, which was a great success that contributed to the funds generated by this event. A big thank you goes to all those that sponsored towards our raffle.

Ongoing Foodbank Service – December 2021

VOTO members and aspirants are still assisting the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation in Valletta every Monday and Thursday. This has been an ongoing assistance since 2020 when the Foodbank was inundated with requests for help and in turn they turned to us for assistance.

A request for collection was sent out during December 2021 to ask our members to help with food donations. We had a great response with a generous amount of food donations given to us by friends and members of VOTO.  All the food received was organised by VOTO members and this was then passed onto the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation who distributed to those in need.

Christmas presents were purchased and personally delivered by VOTO members to 28 children. This was generously sponsored by the Deloitte Foundation, Malta.

Spiritual Events – March & May 2021

Due to Covid restrictions many of our Spiritual evenings were moved online to accommodate members and patients also to keep in touch with them.

This years Lenten Spiritual talk was held online on the 26th March and our members connected via zoom. It was celebrated by Fr. Jean Gove.

Fr. Brendan Gatt kindly offered to say the Rosary for members and patients on the 19th May. This was held for both our members and patients.

Christmas Initiatives – 6^th December 2020

VOTO cadets kindly volunteered to help out at Christmas time in the midst of Covid. They created and prepared Christmas cards including a small token for our patients, which was sent in time for Christmas day.

A request for food collection was sent out during December 2020 to ask our members to help with food donations. With the great response and generous donations received, VOTO cadets kindly organised all the food, it was then passed onto the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation and our cadets also helped unload all the food at their premises. The food was then distributed to those in need.
