Collection of clothes for Ghanian missions
The Order of Malta Volunteers in Gozo organised a collection of good-quality clothes and other items such as shoes and bedding for the Ghanaian missions led by Ghanaian asylum seekers who are currently residing in Gozo.
All items collected will be shipped in a container to Accra, then the items will be distributed in different villages in the remotest parts of the African country. This is the fourth year that the Order of Malta Volunteers in Gozo is involved in this particular project. Two months ago, another container full of such items was also sent; it has already arrived. This was sponsored by a shipping company and the Ghanaian’s themselves.
Last weekend collection was organised with the collaboration of the Xaghra Local Council which also supplied a truck to help with the operation. An Order of Malta tail lift vehicle was also utilized. We also wish to thank all those persons who assisted us with this mission.
